Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited (STA) Promotes Sustainable Growth of Thailand’s Rubber Industry, Showcases Success of ‘The Sustainable Thai Rubber Collaboration project’ Initiative in 20 Provinces with Over 1,700 Participants, and Introduces ‘Sri Trang Friends’ Application to Support Digital Rubber Trading and Assist Farmers
Mr. Veerasith Sinchareonkul, Chief Executive Officer of Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited (STA), announced that the Sri Trang Group recognizes the importance of advancing Thailand’s rubber industry in alignment with its commitment to social and environmental responsibility. Reinforcing its policy as a Green Rubber Company, STA has launched the nationwide “The Sustainable Thai Rubber Collaboration project” project, covering over 30 locations across 20 provinces. The initiative aims to educate farmers and partners on producing high-quality rubber and has engaged more than 1,700 participants, including farmers, communities, transport operators, traders, partners, and government agencies, through both in-person and online activities.
A key highlight of this year’s initiative is the integration of STA’s long-standing programs supporting farmers across all product groups into a single nationwide effort under the “The Sustainable Thai Rubber Collaboration project” project. These include the 9th year of the ‘Rubber Transport with Care’ program, the 6th year of the ‘Quality Latex for Happiness’ program, and the 5th year of the ‘Quality Cup Lump for Happiness’ program—each of which has received consistently positive feedback. The consolidated project spans the entire rubber supply chain and offers a range of educational activities, such as guidance on producing high-quality rubber, promoting the use of formic acid—a natural organic acid—instead of hazardous chemicals for latex preservation, and encouraging the transport of cup lump rubber using standard-compliant vehicles equipped with tarps, tanks, valves, and proper drainage systems to ensure road safety. The project also emphasizes traceable rubber production with Traceable Rubber (GPS) enabling 100% source verification to meet global standards. Under the theme ‘Supporting Sustainable Thai Rubber,’ the Sri Trang Group has reaffirmed its commitment to refusing to purchase illegally imported or exported rubber and continues to implement environmentally friendly production processes across its facilities.
In addition, the initiative introduced key digital products developed by the Sri Trang Group to support rubber farmers and traders. These include 1) Sri Trang Friends application, which enables farmers to conveniently and efficiently sell their rubber, check their sales quota, view historical prices over the past seven days, schedule deliveries, and access real-time weather updates and 2) the Sri Trang Friends Station application, designed specifically for rubber traders, offering a professional, streamlined, and systematic platform for purchasing rubber from farmers. The platform also features a service for registering and utilizing Super Drivers—logistics partners who assist in transporting rubber to Sri Trang Group factories.
“This year, the Company remains committed to continuously advancing Thailand’s rubber industry through the ‘United for Sustainable Thai Rubber’ initiative, which promotes the production of high-quality and legally compliant rubber across the entire supply chain—from upstream sourcing to final delivery. As a leader in Thailand’s rubber industry, Sri Trang plans to continue this initiative in the coming years, reinforcing its role in driving economic, social, and environmental progress toward a stable and sustainable future,” said Mr. Veerasith Sinchareonkul.
